I brought my one and only task on retreat. I need to take all my 2012 receipts and tally them up for the tax spreadsheet for my accountant. Every year I say that I will keep up monthly….and every year I don’t! I know myself and have learned that if I have something to look forward to as a reward (I know, I know, how old am I?!) I will eventually give in and finish the job. This year my carrot on a stick was a chainmaille kit. I have a date with some friends tonight and thought it would be fun to have something new and colourful to wear so…….it took me 3 days of sifting through paper but – tada!! Loving my new bracelet and earrings! I am challenged by dyslexia so chainmaille can be quite interesting! Frustrating but satisfying. Once I had completed the bracelet and earrings I took the scales that were extra and worked out colour groupings and then using both sides of my brain and producing quite a lot of smoke (!), I figured out how to create a colour pattern for two more pairs. Shelley, if you see some errors please don’t tell me about them! Check out this Canadian company for some great products and fun kits! http://www.metaldesignz.com

And here I thought chainmaille was a battle gear of old. Are you planning on doing some jousting while you’re here? Very stylish though.
I use chainmaille on my rock and barnacle bead necklaces. I like that it has a visually heavy look but is in fact quite light. You know I will take every opportunity to turn anything into an accessory!
